Brock Lesnar The Greatest thing to happen since sliced bread
Fighterz

Whether you love him or hate him, Brock Lesnar is the best thing that happened to the UFC in a long time.  Since his arrival, there has been nothing but buzz surrounding the 6’3”, 265 lb monster from Webster, South Dakota.

He made an immediate impact when he was thrown into the ring of fire, against Frank Mir, in his UFC debut.  Although he lost, Brock Lesnar certainly proved he had game and shocked all those critics who wouldn’t give him a fighter’s chance.  He followed this loss with two dominating wins over Heath Herring and Randy Couture, becoming the new Heavyweight champion.  He then continued his dominating streak and avenged his only loss by savagely manhandling Frank Mir and recording his first title defence at the same time.

Did Brock Lesnar get the title shot too early in his career?  Yes.  Did he make that decision to fight Randy Couture?  No, it was Dana White so give the guy a break already!

A former amateur wrestling champion, Brock Lesnar is a legit athlete who deserves more credit and respect for his incredible accomplishments in such a short time.

Being a Brock Lesnar fan, I was certainly entertained by his post fight antics.  However, as a martial artist myself, I completely understand how Brock upset so many people.

The UFC is based on integrity and respect amongst all who enter the octagon and that should never be compromised.  Brock Lesnar got carried away and has made his apologies for his actions.

Kind of interesting though how people were more upset over Brock’s actions than Dan Henderson’s clobbering punch on the already knocked out Michael Bisping.  Admitting he gave him an extra shot, which could have potentially caused serious damage to Bisping, Dan Henderson was cheered for his actions.  Replace Bisping for Couture and I’m pretty sure you won’t get that same reaction.

Bottom line, Brock Lesnar has brought respectability and excitement back to the Heavyweight division.  He has increased ratings, the UFC fan base and ticket sales.

Greatest thing to happen since sliced bread?  Maybe not, but good for Dana White and the UFC? Absolutely.

Now, I’m going to drink a domestic beer because my boss doesn’t pay me enough to afford an imported one.

That’s my take, what’s yours?
