Putting recent speculation to rest, the UFC officially announced yesterday that Kimbo Slice will indeed face off with his TUF 10 castmate Matt Mitrione at UFC 113 on May 8th in Montreal. Slice is coming off a lackluster unanimous decision win against Houston Alexander at the TUF 10 finale, while Mitrione made his professional MMA debut at the same event, knocking out Marcus "Big Baby" Jones in the second round of their fight.

UFC 113 will be headlined by the light-heavyweight championship rematch between Lyoto Machida and Mauricio Rua; the current lineup is after the jump.

Head promoters Darren Owen and Jason Heit (3-0) achieved a roaring success at Armageddon Fighting Championships II: Aftershock. The arena was packed nearly to capacity, Mac Danzig (19-7-1) performed referee duties competently, and ten out of the eleven fights ended within the time limit.

After months of speculation following James Toney making his intentions to fight in the Ultimate Fighting Championship public, one of the greatest boxers of our time is now set to embark on his career in mixed martial arts.         

FiveOuncesofPain.com first broke the news that sources close to the situation were reporting that James Toney has recently been signed to a multi-fight contract with the UFC.

It has been nearly two and a half years since Alistair Overeem won the inaugural Strikeforce heavyweight title. It now appears that he will finally return to the United States and fight for the promotion that minted his belt.

Overeem on Monday tweeted that he is likely to return at an as yet unannounced Strikeforce event on May 15 to face Brett Rogers.
